About Houston Garden Center
Houston Garden Center is a garden center in Conroe, Texas. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as plant nursery, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In Conroe, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Texas, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Conroe is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Conroe follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

visit regularly and have seen them advertise their crepe myrtles as $39.99. They are currently advertising them as half off this week, so I visited the store to find out they made new signs that say they WERE twice that amount and now $39.99. SO misleading!

I was at the Conroe location and I had purchased 16 bags of bark mulch. I asked 4 SEPARATE times for someone to help me load it up. NO ONE HELPED me at all! I’m a 72 year old woman and I ended up loading it ALL myself! A man came showed up as I was loading the last bag! I had also purchased a LOT of plants and 3 bushes that I had also loaded myself. Too bad since I tip really well!

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Went there to get a specific plant which they had, but no one would help me find where the plant was located. Finally found the plants and proceeded to buy four of them, took a picture of the sign and the price because when I went to the register, they tried to charge me an additional $10 a plan. After 15 minutes of arguing with the Cashier, she told me you will need to speak to a manager, but wouldn’t call or get him for me. After finally finding the manager, he walked back to the plant section and agreed that the price for the plant was $10 less than they were trying to charge me but said he could not help because that’s how it’s in the system so he told me I would need to call the corporate office. After calling the corporate office seven times in getting put on hold and the conversation ending I spoke with Jennifer and she was extremely rude and not willing to honor the price that is listed even after the manager is agreeing that they are in the wrong. By far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Absolutely ZERO customer service. If you purchase a ceramic planter and discover it is cracked, don’t bother trying to return it. All the employees and manager will do is point to the “All sales final” sign and tell you the owner says “no exceptions”. Ridiculous!!

I’ve called this company several times over the years and have yet to have someone answer the phone even once. Also they mark up plants 500% then put signs out claiming that everything is “half off”. Lol! Typical car salesman technique. They must be a charity because they are horrible at business. Places like this are the reason prices go up for certain products. A total scam to the plant/landscape community. Get your crap together or get bad reviews. It’s simple. Just fyi, this is coming from THE landscaping business of San Jacinto County. We do not recommend this company to anyone.
